Patient Engagement Forum

Discussion

Canadian Blood Services’ Patient Engagement Forum is designed to bring together a diverse group of patient organizations and representatives from across CBS’ business lines to discuss key health policy issues and directions.

It is a venue that will allow Canadian Blood Services to better hear and understand patient perspectives and concerns, to share updates on its operations and priorities, and to engage in meaningful dialogue and discussion with those that rely on the products and services facilitated by Canadian Blood Services.

We look forward to connecting!

Hi everyone, my name is Chris Brennan and I have been with Canadian Blood Services’ stakeholder engagement group since 2009. I am based out of our head office location in Ottawa.

A significant part of my role here is to help ensure that patients and their representatives have an opportunity to participate in our organization’s decision-making, especially when it comes to matters that impact them or their communities.

I am excited about the potential for the Patient Engagement Forum, and I am looking forward to connecting with you to help ensure the best possible outcomes for the communities we serve. Thanks for your participation!

My name's Ellis Westwood and I'm the Director of Stakeholder Engagement at CBS. I'm based in Ottawa and have 3 children, the youngest of whom has a complex health condition.

I've been at CBS for 2.5 years. Before that, I was an independent public engagement advisor, working with hospitals, health authorities, pan-Canadian health organizations, and governments, to help them connect with, listen to and collaborate with those affected by their decisions.

I'm excited for this Forum as a way to engage patients and patient groups in a dialogue about what's working well and what we could do differently to best meet patient needs.
